Syawal datang lagi

Assalamualaikum wbt
All praises to Allah SWT and His Messenger.

A  month of Ramadhan had passed. Riang ria raya for this year was celebrated here in town, my family is not going back to our hometown this year. I hope my grandparents would come up here for a visit. It has been quite a while since the last time meeting them.

Anyway, raya has been great. Hope yours are as awesome too. It is the month of celebration. The first day of raya is always the best. The first day will be the day where everybody wishes everybody Selamat Hari Raya, Salam Aidilfitri etc. It is also the busiest day ever as everyone will be busy meeting their relatives and friends and not forgetting, also visiting the grave to recite Yassin and prayers for those that had left us. Al-Fatihah.

For visits and all, it was tiresome despite being the guest. Visiting from one house to another, greet them asking how they are, eat the variety types of rendang, ketupat, serunding, kuah lodeh, cakes, kuih, desserts and many many more. What more if you are the one receiving the guests, fuhhh. And the businest will degrade from day to day, if it was our family's raya. Degrade until it is the first weekend of syawal, usually the first Saturday. Wajib! Wajib! Wajib! compulsory for at least one open house. As for my family, there were two last Saturday, lunch and dinner. It was great. Both were held by close family. TGIR= Thank God its Raya, if not, I don't think I will be meeting them ever and that is I think among the advantages of hari raya.

Those are some about my raya. Well, the pre-raya preparation were as tiresome as well.

Two days before syawal, my mother and I visited the pasar for storage of course. Bought the meat and veggies and fish and other sea creatures. Fasting+Pasar, memang terbaik. It were heavy enough for two persons to carry everything.

A day before syawal where it was the second time going  out for groceries. This time only at some nearby shops for some missing and forgotten items that supposedly be bought yesterday. And also, my sister and I visit Guardian. Because Guardian is just nearby, it is not a problem to just stop by for a while and buy some things right? So, we bought a few things for Raya. A lipbalm with cherry scent, it smells so good, a blusher and a packet of mask. The mask is my sister's. She just loves masks. I was happy because at last, I bought a blusher of my own. A girl sometimes, just wants things without a reason. The lipbalm is because my lips easily dried, so it is best I have one. Plus, it has SPF 17.

My new friends:) The jeans is another story. Wait for the next blog entry!

Today is already the first Monday after raya holidays, I guess most Malaysians have already started working after one week raya. No worries peeps, we can continue them this weekend as there is Merdeka holiday this weekend :). With that I end my entry.

Salam Syawal
&
Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan yang ke-55!

English for Professional Communication

Assalamualaikum wbt All praises to Allah SWT and His Messenger Greetings readers! As stated above, in this entry I would like to share about the course that I am taking at present. It is a course from the Academy of Language Studies at Universiti Teknologi Mara(UiTM). It is very rare to find people that know about this course. Dialogue 1 A: Eh, what are you studying now? Me: English for Prof Comm A: ...........??? So, what is that actually? Dialogue 2 A: Anyway, what are you taking now? Me: Language studies A: Oh.. TESL eh. Me: ....................... or very very very rare, Dialogue 3 A: What course did you take? Me: English for Prof Comm A: Ohh..ok. As you see, this course is not as popular as others like law, engineering, medicine, dental, education and others, which everyone knows of. But, it is a fun and interesting course to learn. Believe me. And if you are really good in English, which I am still working on t...

Sleepless night to remember

Assalamulaikum wbt All praises to Allah SWT and His Messenger Hello. Upon writing this post, I am at a state where I can no longer open my eyes to continue doing my work. My friends and I are at Level 9 Menara at this late hour, yup (for those who know the history.........hahahaa.....). It's kind of our lepak place for wifi, for just us. Alhamdulillah. Our journey are coming to its end. So far, we are done with two of our professional presentations. It was a nerve-wrecking and sleepless experience on preparing the text and searching for information and practice and what not for the presentation. Nevertheless, I enjoy every last moment of it. Even now, it is just so difficult to finish up my thesis and do the amendments needed, I choose not to fret and just keep on continuing these difficult times as I believe I will be reminiscing these times later in the future. InsyaAllah, everything will end this Monday. My prayers to all of us, myself and my friends, that we...

Prom Night

Assalamualaikum wbt All praises to Allah SWT and His Messenger And so, our konon2 Prom Night was a fun night. We actually called it Pre-Graduation Dinner plus also combining the dinner with the Dean's Award recipients.  It sounds funny when you called it Prom Night. For me when it is called as such, it sounds Americanish , wild and western .hahaa. But it is also suitable to be called as such to show it was a celebrated night and because the theme for that night was Tie, Suit and Dresses , I know, nice wasn't it. And the dinner, it was not the place or the food that we would fret about or be bossy about later on, its the people and the friends and the pictures that we will talk about again and again, it will be the memory that we will probably recall in the future, the almost last moment of a student life.hahaa. And guess what, just after the dinner, we the gals went and lepak for a while for a short kopi session just to end the night nicely. Wahh, a night to rem...
