Covid-19 in Malaysia

Assalamualaikum wbt
All praises to Allah SWT and His Messenger

Hello reader.

If you are reading this now, you know that we are all in this Covid-19 pandemic for few months already. This pandemic started in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and to date has spread worldwide :(.

If you found this post after a few years it being published, do continue reading as I share my personal experience facing the quarantine exercise during this pandemic outbreak in Malaysia.

Before it was announce as a pandemic, we were all still working as usual but precaution steps are taken as advised by the Government. Until recently, it was announced as pandemic and some drastic actions has been taken nationwide.

For instance, the company i work with has practiced work-from-home (WFH) and a more flexible and shorter working hours. This is applied to both back office and front liners staff (Counter staff). Most companies in Malaysia has practiced doing so to lessen interaction among people which we hope would be able to prevent more people from getting infected.

Hence the Restriction Movement Order (RMO) announced by the Government. We are now in the 2nd phase of RMO in Malaysia. The 1st phase was from 18 March - 31 March 2020 & 2nd phase is from 1 - 14 April 2020. The extension was necessary as the number of cases are increasing day by day. For now, we are not sure whether there could be another extension, but i can feel that the possibility is there.

During RMO there were road blocks. It is called restriction order so the objective is to control the movement throughout. So, non-essentials shops are closed, only essentials and supermarkets are allowed to be in operation in order to continue food supply. We have to practice social distancing at all times, being 1 metre apart from each other. Only the head of family can go and buy groceries, the Government allows only 1 person in each vehicle. There were many more orders which the objective is only one, to avoid interaction thus prevent being infected.

The concern regarding Covid-19 is that we will never know that we are infected until we are tested. Some people develop symptoms while some do not, which is worrisome.

As a responsible citizen and human being, let abide the Government order. Practice social distancing, avoid meeting people, if it is necessary take precautions steps such as be 1 metre apart and wear face mask if you have cough or flu. This second phase or second wave in Malaysia witnessed another increasing number of cases due to previous interaction before the RMO started. We hope that after a month of RMO, the numbers of recovery will start to increase and number of cases stops or decrease soon.

For now, let's take the prevention steps together. Don't forget to use the extra time we have by praying for our family, friends and country. Spend the time we have now doing the things we need and we always wanted to. Lastly, let's hope this pandemic recovers soon. Sending love to everyone reading.

CNY

Assalamualaikum wbt. All praises to Allah SWT and His Messenger. Its already a week after Chinese New Year celebration, around a week after the exact day if I'm not mistaken. At this very moment, I am not alone. The non-stop rhythm of the fire crackers accompany me upon writing this entry :) Chinese New Year, yes. It is among the yearly celebration that I enjoy. Even though I am not a Chinese nor have a Chinese family members, but they are my friends and neighbours. I remembered waking up to a very very loud drum and cymbals sounds several years back. It was from a lion dance at a neighbour's house. It was a great feeling. Woke up to the sound, peep through the window, then rush downstairs and towards the celebrating house. I can't remember brushing my teeth, but I do think I did brush them. So anyway, at that moment, it was the first LIVE lion dance that I have seen from near, in my life. It was fun as I actually experienced the moment. I also remembered watching ano...

2010 - 2013 Farewell Day

Assalamualaikum wbt All praises to Allah SWT and His Messenger. Alhamdulillah, three years of bachelor degree had ended. My fellow mates and I had graduated and going to have our convocation ceremony soon. It was Ramadhan when we finished. We picked out Setia City Mall as the place for our farewell buka-puasa :) It was in July and I still remembered the moments as it was a fun and happy and exciting day for all of us. That day was Monday, the day where some of us still had to present our final presentation on thesis. Mine was on Friday, so I graduated a few days earlier.hahaa.. Anyway, I went to the mall before but that day seems much more fun. Was it because we finished our semester? or  Was it because it was Ramadhan that it felt special? or Well, I don't know, but it was a good feeling. After everyone finished. We set the time which was at 2p.m. to go to the mall. Our plan was to watch a movie (thought of playing bowling but, afraid that we might felt thir...
